New projector that we find in Chinese stores under the name of AAO YG420 this time with a native HD resolution and that escapes somewhat from the usual designs with its rounded shapes. A projector that is in the middle of its range in terms of technical specifications and has a very compact size with its 245 x 166 x 81 mm. As always in this type of projectors we recommend adding a external miniPC or TV-box since if we use it as a media player with the native player we will have problems with some audio and video formats due to codecs.
Projector specifications
he AAO YG420 projector is an LCD with a real resolution of 1280 × 720 pixels, brightness of 2800 Lumens and a contrast of 1000:1. The trapezoidal focus and correction are manual and we can get a screen with dimensions between 44″ and 140″ with a projection distance between 15 and 4.5 meters. It can be hung upside down on the ceiling since it has a function to flip the image and at the bottom an adjustable foot. The chassis is made of plastic, is cooled by a fan and has a unique pair of 3W internal speakers.
SoC, RAM and Storage
The AAO YG420 connection interfaces are varied as we find a pair of USB 2.0 ports, 3.5mm audio jack, AV connector, VGA and an HDMI 1.4a IN where we can connect consoles, Blu-Ray players or any other device . An infrared remote control is also included and we have touch control knobs on the top of the projector chassis.
