We already have AMD 3000 series processors for sale, in this new generation we have the desktop processors of this series at 7nm and also the new AMD Ryzen 5 3400G and Ryzen 3 3200G APUs. In these APU we have integrated the new Zen+ cores made in 12nm which offers better thermal and overclock capabilities compared to the previous AMD APU. We hope to analyze them soon and see how they have evolved.
In the first tests leaked the new AMD Ryzen 5 3400G and Ryzen 3 3200G do not offer us a very different figures in performance compared to the current generation, we have up to 15% improvement in CPU and 12% at GPU level. It remains to be seen the margin of improvement in the overclock of the Zen+ cores with 12nm compared to the Zen of 14nm. In the new package the Ryzen 3 3200G APU also has the core welded to the outer shell by means of a metal plate which surely also improves the heat dissipation.
At a general level, the data of the current AMD Ryzen 14nm APU that we saw months ago in detail are similar to the new Zen+. In these new APUs AMD Ryzen Picasso we have differences as an improvement in CPU speed and we have the same GPU but with an improvement in the speed of your watch. These new APUs are fully compatible with the immortal socket AM4 and we only have to update the BIOS if we plan to update the current APU.
