We already have available the new AMD Ryzen 7000 processors with latest generation Zen 4 cores, powerful processors with great Gaming performance.
Within the range of these processors we have as usual several ranges, we have AMD Ryzen 9 7950X, Ryzen 9 7900X, Ryzen 7 7700X and Ryzen 5 7600X. Some Ryzen that offer us a leap in power and efficiency thanks to its TSMC 5nm FinFET manufacturing process. A leap of power in which we have to invest quite a lot of money because they require new AM5 motherboards and compatible DDR5 RAM memory, so prepare your wallet.
AMD Ryzen 7000 Specifications
As we can see in the range of processors, the star model is the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X which has 16 cores and 32 threads of execution, reaches a processing speed of 5.7 GHz and the base frequency is 4.5 GHz, the consumption stands at 170 W.
The rest of the range is the Ryzen 9 7900X with 12 cores and 24 threads also with 170 W, the Ryzen 7 7700X with 18 cores and 16 threads and finally the Ryzen 5 7600X with 6 cores and 12 threads, these two up to 105 W.
In these processors, we find an integrated AMD Radeon Graphics GPU with new generation RDNA 2 cores, a high performance jump over the already outdated Vega GPUs. Despite having only 2 graphics cores, this power is enough to be able to play games like LoL or even Fortnite, as well as being a default graphics solution if we have to test without our discrete GPU. In terms of video playback, this GPU is excellent and has support for the latest codecs and technologies.
As we can see in the performance improvement we have a striking promotional figures, but in user tests for now are not so spectacular in many cases. As we have mentioned we will need high speed DDR5 memory up to 5200 MHz to get all its performance, although we can still use DDR4, it also has PCIe 5.0 compatibility, great support for overclocking and the introduction of Socket AM5, which for now has a range of very expensive PCIe 5.0 motherboards.
Pricing and availability
With the prices of the processors must be counted in the package the jump to compatible DDR5 RAM memory, an AM5 motherboard to support the processor and a CPU heatsink to cool it because by default it comes without it.
