AMD introduces its Ryzen and Athlon 3000 APU’s to fight in the Chromebook sector

AMD is launching into the Chromebook sector with its new range of Ryzen and Athlon 3000 APUs, an ideal time for the constant demand for computers due to the increase in teleworking, Chromebook is also growing significantly. Seeing how AMD is succeeding in conventional laptops will surely make this sector more expensive.

This type of laptop designed to work with Chrome OS always online is not the most popular in many countries, but in the United States it is very healthy, especially in the education sector. This is a good option for price and performance to work in collaborative environments with online applications.

Within the new range of AMD Ryzen and Athlon 3000 APUs we have a wide range of possibilities where the Ryzen models are destined for the high range of Chromebook for high productivity needs and the Athlon models for the medium range.

Within the Ryzen we can see that we have two very different variants, the Ryzen 7 3700C and Ryzen 5 3500C models will offer high performance thanks to its Zen+ cores at 12 nm, while the rest of the processors are based on Zen architecture at 14 nm. The leap in integrated GPUs is also significant, we went from a Vega Radeon 3 in the medium range to Vega Radeon 10 and 8 in the high range, two solutions perfectly valid for daily work.

The Chromebook sector has a lot of potential thanks to its competitive price and the focus on the education sector with collaborative tools. Many schools and universities finance them to implement Google Suite in their students. Since a few years ago we have also all the Android apps through Google Play available to install directly on Chome OS, this gives us plenty of options to work with them.

Soon we will see Chomebook laptops with these new APU AMD Ryzen and Athlon 3000 from manufacturers such as HP, Lenovo or Asus. We are waiting for their prices and product ranges and if it is possible we will review one for you.
