Android 10 arrives at Rockchip's most basic SoC the RK3228A

Rockchip is working hard lately to port Android 10 to its SoCs and today it’s the turn of its more modest chip the RK3328A. Today we have seen on Aliexpress the smart Box H20 that includes the cheapest and most basic Rochip SoC, the RK3328A and Android 10 as OS. A very discreet equipment but that can work as a multimedia player since it is capable of decoding video even in 4K resolution and at 60fps. For the rest of the uses, games or apps from paid streaming platforms such as Netflix, we have better options for a few euros more, since this smart TV Box will not measure up.

SoC, RAM and storage

The TV-Box H20 is centered on the RK3228A SoC that has four ARM Cortex-A7 processors that go up to 1.5Ghz and a Mali-400 GPU that includes native H.265 and VP9 video decoding up to 4K @ 60fps with support for HLG HDR10. It also includes 1/2 GB of DDR3 RAM and 8/16 GB of eMMc storage memory that we can expand by adding a memory device to one of the included USB ports.

Connectivity and other features

At the level of wireless connections we have WiFi b / g / n with internal antenna and does not have Bluetooth. As ports we have a basic set with two USB 2.0, 10/100 network connector, analog AV jack and an HDMI 2.0 port. Let’s remember a remote control with this TV-Box and its operating system is Android 10.0.
