Chromecast Ultra with Android TV and remote control on the way

Everything seems to point out that Google is finally going to completely renew its Chromecast Ultra to adapt to the new times and thus step up to face its successful rivals. According to leaks, everything indicates that the next version of this popular device with the codename “Sabrina” in addition to including support for Chromecast 4K HDR would include Android TV as an operating system, so it could work completely independently without relying on a Smartphone

This new device does not catch us completely by surprise since a few months ago Google already launched a Box with Android TV aimed at developers, ADT-3, which made us suspect that something was already cooking. A successful renewal that would make the new Chromecast a much more flexible device than the current ones and that would be on par with others such as the Xiaomi Mi Box or  the Nvidia Shield TV 2019.

There are also leaks that indicate that it will include a remote control with a microphone, something logical in the case of a dongle with Android TV, which had already happened would be taking the steps to receive the American FCC certification where its first image has been seen. On the rest of his hardware there is no data, for the moment only pure speculation.

  • At the moment there are no dates for the presentation of this new Chromecast Ultra, but a good option would be during the Google I / O 2020 if it is celebrated normally.
