Gigabyte BRIX Extreme Intel Gen12, new mini PCs with upgraded CPUs

All major brands are presenting these days their mini PCs with Intel Gen12 processors, in this case the new Gigabyte BRIX Extreme Intel Gen12 join this wave.

The new generation of mini PCs in NUC format from Gigabyte offer us a continuant design with respect to the previous version, which was the one that changed its case. These mini PCs have a fairly closed case with an active fan to keep temperatures at bay, whereas always we find on its perimeter numerous connectors. These computers have Intel Gen12 Core i5 and Core i7 processors manufactured in 7 nm that integrate the most efficient new generation Intel Xe GPUs. These configurations are more than enough to run any professional app or digital signage system thanks to its 4 video outputs.

The new Gigabyte BRIX Extreme Gen12 compact computers offer several processor options, in the low end we have the Intel Core i3-1220P with 10 cores between 3.3 and 4.4GHz with an Intel UHD GPU, the Intel Core i5-1240P processor with 12 cores between 3.3 and 4.4GHz with an 80 EU Intel Iris Xe Graphics GPU, plus the powerful Intel Core i7-1260P processor with 12 cores between 3.4 and 4.7 GHz with a 96 EU Intel Iris Xe Graphics GPU. A new generation of Intel processors featuring only 7 nm lithography.

Inside the case we can mount up to 64 GB of RAM thanks to its two DDR4 3200 MHz SO-DIMM Slots and for storage we have a 1x M.2 NVMe PCI 4x and 2x PCIe x1 connector. The case of these mini PCs have two designs, in the highest model also has an internal bay to accommodate a 2.5″ SATA3 disk drive.

Other features

In terms of wireless connectivity we have a WiFi 6E + Bluetooth 5 adapter with internal antennas. In the connectivity area we find on the front 3 USB-A 3.2 ports, a USB-C 3.1 and audio jack in addition to the power button. In the rear area we have an Ethernet 2.5 GB, two USB-A 2.0 ports, two HDMI 2.0b + 2.1 video outputs, mini DP 1.4 outputs and we also have a USB 3.1 Type-C Thunderbolt 4 port (40Gbps) that allow us to connect 4 displays up to 4K/8K.

The BRIX Extreme Gen12 has very compact dimensions and includes VESA support, comes standard with an external power transformer. It is available in two case sizes and in various configurations from barebone to models with RAM, disk and OS installed.
