Finally we located in the official store of GPD in Aliexpress its new model GPD PLUS already on sale. This new portable folding console model includes Android 7.0 as OS and maintains the external design of the previous model. Inside the GPD PLUS hides significant improvements as a SoC much faster, as is the Mediatek MT8176 compatible with Vulkan and openGL ES 3.2 and 4GB of RAM, twice the memory that had the previous console.
The new GPD XD PLUS includes a Mediatek MT8176 SoC, a Hexa core with a cluster of two CPUs ARM Cortex-A72 capable of reaching up to 2.1GHz and another cluster with four CPU ARM Cortex-A53 that arrive up to 1.7 GHz while in the graphical section we have a PowerVR GX625 GPU. It also includes 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage memory, 6000 mAh battery, Dual Band WiFi and Bluetooth 4.1. The screen is a 5-inch IPS touch with a resolution of 1280 × 720 pixels. In terms of connectivity we found a 3.5mm audio jack, microSD card reader and microHDMI port.
As always we found the console loaded with emulators: NES / FC, GB, GBC, SMC, SMD, SFC / SNES, GBA, MAME, N64 and SONY PS, although we can install whatever we want. At the controls level, it has analog joysticks, a crosshead, a D-PAD, double triggers and various function keys for Android, the same configuration as in the previous console. Finally comment on its size of 155 * 89 * 24mm and its weight that is around 300g.
