GPD MicroPC is the new bet in UMPC format of the Koreans GPD. A small laptop with a 6″ screen that runs Windows 10 and that inaugurates a new line of products aimed at the professional sector. With its reinforced body and serial port this UMPC is designed as a tool for technical work, not for gaming. As always an interesting bet of this brand that surely does not disappoint those who need a really portable tool.
Processor, RAM and storage
GPD MicroPC will include an Intel Celeron N4100 processor with 4 x86 cores capable of reaching 2.40Ghz in turbo mode and including an Intel UHD Graphics GPU with 12EU and a maximum speed of 700mhz that is capable of playing 4K@60fps video. For cooling it will have a fan that we can operate manually with a switch and that has three positions. We also find 4 GB of RAM, a M.2 2242 SSD of 128GB capacity and a microSD card reader.
Screen and other features
The screen will be 6 inches, we assume that with FHD resolution, while at the wireless connectivity level we will have Wifi aC and Bluetooth. In terms of interfaces this UMPC will have 3 USB 3.0 ports, a USB Type-C port, Gigabit network interface, HDMI output and serial port. The qwerty keyboard is backlit, includes a touchpad with buttons and the included battery will be 6200mAh.
Price and availability
- GPD MicroPC will be available in mid-February 2019 in the portal of micro financing Indiegogo with a first batch of 2000 units and a price that will be around $299 (€265).
