Very good price on AliExpress for the Android Box H96 MAX, which draws attention for its Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, unusual in this range.
This entry-level Android TV-Box has the Android 11 system, and its plastic case at least cheers up with a colourful side strip. Thanks to its Amlogic processor we will not have problems to use it as a mediaplayer, and it even supports the AV1 video codec and with support for content up to HDR 10. An interesting SoC within the cheap range that is oriented to multimedia playback, although we can also run all kinds of apps and can even support CoreELEC.
As usual, it is not recommended to use this BOX to view paid platforms such as Netflix, as it lacks certificates to view them in maximum video quality, for this we have better options.
H96 MAX Specifications
The H96 MAX TV-Box includes a 12nm Amlogic S905W2 SoC soldered on its small motherboard. This chip is a Quad Core with low power ARM Cortex-A35 processors and a MALI-G3 MP2 GPU. This hardware is enough to run the included Android 11, streaming apps, KODI, IPTV and some simple 3D games. As always, the CPU is cooled by a heatsink, so we don’t have any ambient noise.
As we see in the store, this Box is available in versions with 2/4 GB of RAM DDR3 and 16/32/64 GB of storage memory eMMc. It also has a reader for memory cards in micro SD format that allows us to increase its internal storage capacity.

In terms of wireless connectivity, the H96 MAX is quite well-equipped with Wi-Fi 6 with internal antenna and Bluetooth 5.0. In terms of connectors, on the perimeter of its circular plastic case we find 2 USB 2.0 ports, 3.5 mm connector for Audio and analogue video, HDMI 2.0 video output port and an Ethernet 100 connector.
