Intel has just introduced its new Intel NUC 11 Essential mini PCs with new generation Jasper Lake processors manufactured on 10nm. These computers are available in kits with different configurations.
These small form factor computers come with Intel Pentium and Intel Celeron processors. We have their low power variants of the N series and also the most powerful of the J series. These PCs offer numerous connectors and very low power consumption thanks to the Jasper Lake technology of only 10nm. Unfortunately, these chips only have the integrated Intel HD Graphics GPU and not the new Intel Xe GPU which gives much better results.
Processor, RAM and storage
Intel NUC 11 Essential Kits (Atlas Canyon) can be found with Intel Celeron N4505 processors with 2 cores and 2 threads with speeds up to 2.90 GHz, Intel Celeron N5105 with 4 cores and 4 threads that can reach 2.90 GHz and the most powerful, an Intel Pentium Silver N6005 with 4 cores and 4 threads up to 3.30 GHz. With slightly more power consumption and power we will have the variants with their equivalents Intel J6005, J5105 and J4505. These processors all have an Intel HD Graphics GPU in common.
For RAM memory we have available 2 slots for SO-DIMM DDR4 2933Mhz modules where we can install up to 16 GB. While for storage we find a connector for an SSD M.2 MVMe 2280 and another SATA. In some versions we have 64 GB of integrated eMMC memory.
Other specifications
Wireless connectivity is good, as it has Wifi 6 AX101 and Bluetooth 5.2. In terms of connectivity we have a 3.5 mm audio jack, an HDMI 2.0b video port and a DisplayPort 1.4. We also find a Gigabit Ethernet network connector, four USB 3.1, two front USB 2.0 and finally a front 9-pin connector for development work.
This mini PC is compatible with Windows 11 and multiple Linux distributions. We will also have versions with different RAM configurations in addition to the classic barebones without any RAM or data storage units.
