Intel NUC 12 Serpent Canyon, a powerful NUC with discrete ARC GPU

Intel has presented its unique and powerful NUC, the Intel NUC 12 Serpent Canyon, a mini PC with powerful CPU and a discrete Intel ARC A770M GPU as a novelty.

This compact computer offers an Intel Core i7-12700H processor with high power and a consumption of only 45 W TPD. In addition, it offers the Intel ARC A770M dedicated graphics card, which represents one of Intel’s first steps in this sector, a generation of graphics cards that has suffered multiple delays and is very late compared to the competition. In a few days we will have the new NVIDIA 4000, the integrated AMD RDNA2 and soon the RDNA3.

The new Intel NUC 12 Enthusiast has an Intel Core i7-12700H processor manufactured in 7 nm, with fourteen cores, eight high-performance and six low-performance, and runs up to twenty simultaneous processes. The processor speed is between 3.5 and 4.7 GHz with a power consumption that is normally around 45 W at most. It has an integrated Intel Xe GPU, but in this case it is only used secondarily as it has a dedicated GPU.

We have a dedicated Intel Arc A770M GPU that reaches up to 1.65 GHz GPU has 32 Xe cores, a total of 512 execution units and integrates 16 GB GDDR6 memory, the consumption of this card is 150 W and performs like an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070M. The total consumption of the mini PC can be 330 W which is what gives its power supply.

Inside the case we can mount two SODIMM DDR4 3200 modules up to 64 GB and three NVMe SSD drives up to 8 TB. By default, it comes with a ridiculous 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of disk, so it will be necessary to make an additional pay.
