From MINIX we receive information about a new product of this brand called MINIX NEO Storage Pro, which is presented in a financing campaign in Indiegogo. A device that combines a USB Type-C Thunderbolt 3 HUB with an integrated 240/480/960GB capacity portable disk. A combo that we already saw a few months ago in a similar device with a conventional USB Type-C connector and that we now see with a specific design for Macbook Air / Pro.
The new MINIX NEO Storage Pro Hub mounts inside a M.2 SATA disk with a capacity of 240/480/960GB with read / write speeds that can go up to 400MB/s. A unit in M.2 format like those already offered by MINIX in its miniPCs to expand them and replace the eMMC memory installed by default.
At the connection level we have an HDMI 1.4 port with 4K@60Hz output resolution, a USB 3.0 Type-A port with a speed of up to 5Gb/s, USB Type-C Thunderbolt 3 connector that reaches up to 40Gb/s and allows a supply power up to 100W. This HUB fits on the side of our Macbook Air / Pro connecting to the Type-C ports that we have on the sides and is not out of place in terms of design.
