MSI Pro DP20Z a new evolutionary mini PC with APU AMD Ryzen 5 5600G

If we are thinking of setting up a modular mini PC with interesting expansion options the new MSI Pro DP20Z is perhaps our choice, a contained volume and great connectivity are its most outstanding positive points.

The MSI Pro DP20Z is a low power PC with a volume of only 2.6 liters powerful and flexible enough to use it for a few years. Its engine is an AMD Ryzen 5 5600G chip manufactured by TSMC 7nm FinFET and integrating ZEN 3 cores with very good performance, with which we will move Windows 10 Pro with total fluidity as well as any app and even games with medium graphics load at 1080p.

The rest of its specifications are good, with multiple input and output ports, naturally for 4K video at 60fps and excellent expansion options for RAM and storage, something that is appreciated, since it arrives in this version with 8/250 GB.

Processor, RAM and storage

In the MSI PRO DP20Z we have a Socket AM4 where comes installed an AMD Ryzen 5 5600G processor a Hexa Core with 12 threads capable with a base frequency of 3.9 Ghz and capable of reaching in turbo mode to 4.4 Ghz. The iGPU is a 7-core AMD Radeon Vega with a graphics frequency of 1900Mhz.

For RAM we have 2 SO-DIMM DDR4 3200 Mhz slots where we can plug up to 64 GB although in this version comes installed a module of 8 GB of RAM. For storage we have many options, since despite the small size of the case we have 2 PCIe GEN3x4 NVMe SSD connectors, one of them with a 250 GB drive, to which we also add internal space for two other 2.5-inch SATA 3 drives.

Other specifications

This MSI includes for wireless networking Wifi aX and Bluetooth 5.1 thanks to the included INTEL/AX200.NGWG.NV card and we see that on the back we have 2 connectors for external antennas. The audio is 2.1 Realtek ALC233 and the connectors have nothing to envy to those of a conventional desktop PC, as we find 2 audio jack, 3 USB 2.0, a USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C, two USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A, RJ45 Gigabit network port, a VGA output, HDMI 2.0 and a DisplaPort 1.4.

To power it we have an external adapter like the 120 W laptops, the included operating system is Windows 10 Pro, upgradeable to Windows 11 and is compatible with VESA type anchors. A computer that can be used for office work or to use demanding design apps, but also to run IPTV, KODI addons, SAMBA server or play with demanding emulators.
