New low-priced Android box that appears on AliExpress called G96 W2 and that surprises us with some of its versions of up to 8/128 GB.
Some versions with 4/64 GB and 8/128 GB are clearly suspicious due to their low price, less than 34 $ for the 8/128 GB version, which all indicate that they are basically a scam, since they have an impossible price.
On the other hand, the TV Box G96 W2 is based on the Amlogic S905W2 SoC, it is a very interesting entry-level processor, as you can see in our review, and with Android 11 as the operating system. A chip that is capable of decoding video with the AV1 codec up to 4K@60fps resolutions and with HDR 10+ support, so we will have good features as a multimedia player.
To conclude, one more Box that we DO NOT recommend buying, especially in its versions with 4/64 GB and 8/128 GB if we do not want to waste time with disputes with AliExpress.
Q96 W2 Specifications
In the centre of this Android Box Q96 W2 we find the Amlogic S905W2 processor manufactured in 12nm as the engine. This chip is a Quad Core with ARM Cortex-A35 processors and an integrated MALI-G3 MP2 GPU. A sufficient processor to use streaming apps, KODI, IPTV and even games with 3D graphics without too much load.
In this TV Box, we theoretically have 2/4/8 GB of DDR3 RAM and 16/64/128 GB of eMMc storage memory integrated on the board. It also has a micro SD format card reader that allows us to increase its internal storage capacity.
In the wireless connectivity section in the Q96 W2 we have Dual Band Wi-Fi aC and Bluetooth 5.0. In the connectors section there are 2 USB 2.0 ports, HDMI 2.0 video output, SPDIF digital audio output, 10/100 network connector and finally an analogue port for audio and video output, with which we can use old televisions with this Box.
Included with the accessories is an infrared remote control, power adapter and all the necessary cables to get it up and running right out of the box.

Could you elaborate a bit, why you don’t recommend this box?
I am searching for a cheap box with SPDIF, and I don’t need big internal flash, so I am OK with the NAND size being fake.
All I need is a stable running system which isn’t too slow for being useable.
Could this box deliver these features?
Thank you! 🙂
Because is a fake box.
Buy a s905w2 with no fake specs, 2gb RAM is the max in this boxes.
For SPDIF buy one of this (or similar): https://amzn.to/3zKiegx
Then you can buy any box.
