Qualcomm has just presented its new SoC’s that reinforce its Snapdragon Medium range 665, 730 and 730G and that present a new step forward in power and performance. Let’s see what we offer these new chips of this technological giant with great implantation in the world of Smartphones where the new 730 are the great novelty and that will reach the market during this year.
The Snapdragon 655 is the heir of Snapdragon 650 is an Octa Core manufactured in 11nm with Kryo 260 processors with 4 CPUs based on ARM Cortex-A73 and 4 on ARM Cortex-A53. The GPU is an Adreno 610, the DSP Hexagon 686 doubles the AI capacity of this chip and the ISP is a Spectra 165 ISP with capacity to handle up to three cameras, a 25MP camera, two 16MP cameras, 5x optical zoom, Noise, 3D facial unlocking or portraits with HDR + among others. It also includes a Snapdragon X12 modem and Quick Charge 3.0.
The Snapdragon 730 is the successor of Snapdragon 710/715 and includes capabilities present in the Snapdragon 855. This new Octa Core Chip is manufactured in 8nm and includes Kryo 470 processors with 2 CPUs based on ARM Cortex-A76 and 4 in ARM Cortex-A55 . The GPU is an Adreno 618 and the DSP Hexagon 688 with Tensor Accelerator doubles the power of AI compared to the Snapdragon 710. The Photographic Chip also has support for 3 cameras, one of up to 48MP, simultaneous duals of up to 22MP with all types of reinforced modes by IA. This chip includes a Snapdragon X15 modem, Quick Charge 4+, support for up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM, UFS 2.1 storage, Wifi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0 among others.
The Snapdragon 730G is a gamer variant of the Snapdragon 730 with which Qualcomm focuses directly on this growing segment. At the hardware level, the configuration of the Snapdragon 730 is repeated but the GPU is overclocked as standard and can achieve up to 15% more performance than the 730. It also includes Wi-Fi level improvements to reduce latency and HDR support for games .
