Within the ChinaJoy fair the company AMD has presented the AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT graphics card, a product designed to offer the best gaming experience with 1080p resolutions for the most demanding titles.
The new Radeon RX 6600 XT graphics card is based on the AMD RDNA 2 architecture found in today’s gaming consoles. This new processor has 32 MB of AMD Infinity Cache and 8 GB of GDDR6 memory, and is compatible with the latest AMD software enhancements such as Fidelity FX Super Resolution or SAM. Undoubtedly an interesting option for those who do not prioritize the resolution in their games.
At the core of this AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT GPU is the Navi 23 XT processor with 2048 Stream Processors, 8 GB GDDR6 VRAM memory with a speed of 16 Gbps and 256 GB/s bandwidth. Its gaming frequency is 2359 MHz, although it can reach 2589 MHz. The power consumption of this card is 160 W and it requires only an 8-pin PCIe connector to power it. A GPU that competes directly against the NVIDIA 3060/3060Ti for specifications and practically doubles the performance of the RX 5600 XT.
In addition to these hardware features AMD GPUs benefit from several unique advanced options.
- AMD Fidelity FX Super Resolution: an open source spatial scaling technology for game developers that delivers up to 2.4x higher performance on average in “Performance Mode” compared to native 4K in select games. FSR supports a wide range of AMD processors and graphics, as well as competitive GPUs.
- AMD Smart Access Memory (SAM): when Radeon RX 6000 series graphics are paired with AMD Ryzen 5000 series or select Ryzen 3000 series desktop processors and AMD 500 series motherboards, SAM gives Ryzen processors access to all of the CPU’s high-speed GDDR6 memory to deliver a significant performance boost in select titles.
- Other advanced features, such as support for DirectX 12 Ultimate,AMD Radeon Anti-Lag and AMD Radeon Boost, enable the new graphics card to deliver visually stunning, high-performance and responsive 1080p gaming experiences.
Pricing and availability
- The new AMD Radeon RX 6000 XT will be available from August 11 for an official price of $379, but it is expected that with the shortage of components the street price will be higher.
