Summary of the Android TV devices that we have seen in the IFA 2018

It seems that Google has managed to integrate its Android TV system and especially Google Assistant on many more devices this year for what we have seen in the IFA 2018. If in previous years the integration of the Google system and its assistant in TV sector was a minority now with the rise of AI and voice control options the market seems much more interested in this range of products.

SONY

As we saw a few weeks ago Sony is going to soon bring to the market a range of products with Android TV and Google Assistant thanks to the long range microphones integrated into the structure of the device. He has also presented us his intelligent speakers with Google Assistant where he highlights a model with LED lights and powerful speakers.

Hisense

Hisense makes the jump to the Android TV system integrating it in some of its SmartTV, in the exhibition we have been able to watch the Hisense 55U7A TV, in a special version with Android TV connected to a Google Home mini, the official models with Android TV will be the Himedia H10E and the H9E Plus that we will see soon in the market. At the Hisense stand there was a Google representative making demos of the system with the classic phrases of daily use.

Phillips

Undoubtedly Phillips is one of the brands that most bet on the total integration of attendees in all domestic aspects, we can control lights, ventilation, media player with simple general commands to create environments. In addition, their SmartTV models with Android TV OS are compatible with both Google Assistant and Amazon’s Alexa.

Panasonic

Panasonic has showed us its devices controlled by Google Assistant where we could see a demo controlling their GA10 speakers and the HC2020 smart panel. A system that can be installed in any room and play content globally with only voice commands, the panel also integrates Chromecast to send any content comfortably.

LG

The LG brand is another one that seems to revolve towards the Google Assistant system and at the IFA 2018 we have seen how Google Assistant offers integrated running over its Smart TV operating system environment. During the exhibition LG has made multitudes of demos focused on the AI sector and in that area has also presented an intelligent speaker that has won several awards at the event, no doubt a sector on the rise.

Grundig and METZ

In this fair we have also seen Grundig models with integrated Android TV that also have the option of being used with Alexa, this line of products now belong to the Beko brand. On the other hand for the German market we have the SmartTV line METZ (Skyworth) that seem quite interesting with Android TV as operating system.
