T3Mini a basic TV-Stick with Allwinner H616 not to buy

Today we found on AliExpress the T3Mini TV-Stick, a device with Android of the most basic range and not very recommendable given its features.

A stick that pretends to work as a media player installing the KODI mediaplayer or to use Apps, but having only 1 GB of RAM, will basically drag when moving Android 10 and any app. As it also comes with 8 GB of storage memory, the space to install apps is going to be very limited, in short, better to opt for other options.

Note that for power supply we do not have a transformer, it is powered by connecting it to a USB port on the TV, something that can give us problems if we do not have a TV with a USB with sufficient electrical power.

Specifications of the TV-Stick T3Mini

The small Stick T3Mini includes the Allwinner H616 Quad Core SoC manufactured in 28nm. A chip that integrates ARM Cortex-A53 processors capable of reaching 1.8 Ghz and an ARM Mali-G31 MP2 GPU with support for OpenGL ES 3.2 and Vulkan.

This Smart Box is only available in a variant with 1 GB of DDR3 RAM and 8 GB of eMMc storage memory. We can expand the storage thanks to the micro SD card slot included on one of its sides, where we can theoretically insert up to 64 GB capacity cards.

Other outstanding features

In the field of wireless connectivity, we only have Wi-Fi b/g/n with internal antenna, as it does not have Bluetooth. As connectors, we find in its plastic box not too many options with a USB-A 2.0 port, a USB Type-C for power, a female HDMI 2.0a video output port capable of 4K resolution and a micro USB for the IR sensor extension.

Among the accessories supplied with the T3Mini we find an IR remote control to start using this TV-Stick just by taking it out of the box and connecting it to our TV.

DebStick Max ST4000

Why is no one improving on the X96S or the BuzzTV Vidstick Max ST4000? All the TV stick articles from the past year+ have had no more than 2Gb RAM – sometimes not even LPDDR4 but LPDDR3! And none of them have had a USB3 port, which is really essential if you want to add greater memory using a nanoUSB flash drive…
