It seems that the peace signed in April between Amazon and Google has paid off, since the two companies has presented the official announcement of the integration of Chromecast support in the Android app and the possibility of downloading YouTube on Fire TV devices. Two functions in high demand for the users of the two platforms although for now we have no news of the official update or exit of Amazon Prime video app on Android TV for devices such as the Xiaomi Mi Box.
As we can read in the Amazon press release or in the Google blog post we can now use Chromecast to transmit content from the icon in the Amazon app to our Android TV device with the Google system properly certified. A system that allows to comfortably view contents of this platform even if we do not have a Fire TV or a device compatible with this platform where we can playback it natively. If we have problems to see the contents, we have to check that we have updated the Chromecast app on our Android TV from Google Play.
On the other hand we can also install the YouTube app on Amazon devices such as the Fire TV Stick (2nd Gen), Fire TV Stick 4K, Fire TV Cube, Fire TV Stick Basic Edition and Smart TV Fire TV Edition compatible as Toshiba, Insignia, Element and Westinghouse. Some of this devices were reviewed in our website and that now gain in possibilities of use this app.
