We already have with us the new AMD Radeon RX 6800 graphics cards that offer us high performance thanks to its RDNA 2 architecture and its 7nm manufacturing process,
For now only two models have been presented, on the one hand we have the Radeon RX 6800 that competes against the NVIDIA RTX 3070 and on the other hand a more powerful version, the Radeon RX 6800 XT that competes against the NVIDIA RTX 3080, some nomenclatures already known in the AMD families. We will have to wait yet to see the new Radeon RX 6900 the top tier that promises a great graphics performance.
As we can see in the AMD comparison chart the difference between the AMD Radeon RX 6800 and the AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT is significant but not abysmal. Both graphic cards allow us to play up to 4K depending on the settings and the specific title and among the new integrated technologies we must highlight AMD Infinity cache that offers a memory integrated into the core to accelerate internal processes.

To get the most out of these graphics cards, it is recommended to have an AMD Ryzen 5000 processor in combination with a B550 or X570 motherboard. With this combo we will have SAM activated (Smart Access Memory), with it we have direct access to the memory of the GPU from the processor and increases the performance.
As for the performance we have some good figures if we compare them with their rivals in the traditional rendering section. We also have full DirectX 12 Ultimate support, under this platform we have key next-gen technologies such as Mesh Shaders, Sampler Feedback, VRS and VRR support thanks to the HDMI 2.1 connectors. These graphics cards have acceleration for the new AV1 codec, both for decoding and encoding.
As for raytracing we have DirectX Raytracing (DXR) support, but as we can see the performance is much lower compared to the NVIDIA ones. We also have the visual improvements offered by AMD FidelityFX in the final image. For now AMD has no alternative to the NVIDIA DLSS system, AMD have been presented with the FidelityFX Super Resolution system to apply a similar IA solution, but for now it is only an announcement without a release date.
Price and availability
For now finding units for sale of these new GPUs is quite complicated and the units that have gone on sale have fly away in minutes in the most popular online stores, watch the stock if we are interested.
