Liquid cooling and triggers: that’s the new Infinix GT 50 Pro smartphone for gamers

The new Infinix GT 50 Pro has just been unveiled. It’s a smartphone from a brand that’s not very well known in the West, but it offers some pretty impressive features for the price.

The device features a design with gaming-inspired touches, an IP64-certified body, and two triggers on one side to enhance the gaming experience. This mid-range device comes with a high-refresh-rate AMOLED display, a 50 MP OIS camera, and a MediaTek Dimensity 8400 Ultimate processor, which, to give you a reference, scores approximately 1,600,000 points on the Antutu v11 app. The chip is cooled by a liquid cooling system and a vapor chamber, so we likely won’t have overheating issues during long gaming sessions.

It’s also worth noting that its body is IP65-certified to protect it from water and dust and that it runs Android 16 with the XOS 16 overlay and includes Widevine L1 certification.

Infinix GT 50 Pro Specifications

The processor in this new Infinix smartphone is the Mediatek Dimensity 8400 Ultimate, an octa-core chip manufactured on a 4nm process. Within this chip, there are three clusters: the most powerful one features 1 ARM Cortex-A725 processor clocked at 3.25 GHz, a second cluster with 3 ARM Cortex-A725 processors clocked at 3 GHz, and the most efficient cluster with 4 ARM Cortex-A725 processors clocked at 2.1 GHz. The GPU is a Mali-G720 MP7 running at 1.3 MHz and includes support for HDR10 technology. It also features an NPU 880 for artificial intelligence tasks.

The RAM is 12 GB LPDDR5X, although, as always, we can virtually expand it using storage memory. For storage, we have 256/512 GB UFS 4.1, which we can also expand via a microSD slot up to, we assume, 2 TB capacity cards.

Display, cameras, and battery life

The display panel used by the Infinix GT 50 Pro is a 6.78-inch AMOLED with a resolution of 2644 x 1208 pixels, a peak brightness of 4500 nits, a 144 Hz refresh rate, and is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i.

For selfies, there’s a13 MP front-facing camera that complements the 50 MP main rear OIS sensor, supported by an 8 MP wide-angle lens. It also features an in-display fingerprint reader, 5G/4G LTE connectivity with Dual SIM, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, FM radio, an IR sensor, a vibration motor, and GPS.

As for connectivity ports, this new device features a USB Type-C 2.0 port for data transfer and charging, and the battery is a 6500 mAh unit with fast charging up to 45 W and wireless charging up to 30 W. On the audio front, it features stereo speakers compatible with Hi-Res Audio and Dolby Audio, along with two noise-canceling microphones.
