We’ve now unveiled the new ANBERNIC RG 35, a small handheld capable of emulating 16-bit consoles that fits in any pocket thanks to its 3.5-inch IPS screen with a 4:3 aspect ratio and a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. It’s a device that doesn’t offer anything new and enters a market already saturated with this type of low-cost device.
This is a vertically oriented console, powered by the well-known Rockchip RK3326 quad-core processor with 1 GB of RAM and running Linux as its operating system to maximize the performance of this chip, which is even capable of running PS1 games.
The operating system is stored on a 64 GB microSD card running a BATOCERA distribution with over 20 emulators, so it’s essential to backup this microSD card, which is what boots the console. Its microSD card—which also comes with thousands of games—and this console could likely run the ArkOS4clones distribution.
The ports include a 3.5 mm audio jack, a USB Type-C OTG port, and two microSD card slots. For audio, it features a speaker, and for controls, it has two analog joysticks, a D-pad, seven buttons, and four rear triggers. The battery has a capacity of 3,200 mAh, which will last for about 7 hours of gameplay—more than enough if you just want to play a game every now and then.
