Amazon is phasing out its Fire tablets and introducing its new Alexa Tablets in three sizes

Amazon has made a historic shift in its hardware strategy by saying goodbye to the iconic “Fire” brand and introducing its new family of devices: the Alexa Tablet 12 Pro, Alexa Tablet 11, and Alexa Tablet 8.

With this refresh, the company is moving beyond the limitations of its old operating system to adopt Android 16, which offers native access to the Google Play Store and guarantees four years of system updates. All tablets feature an aluminum finish and come with the new Alexa assistant built in , capable of interacting with on-screen content using generative AI.

The most powerful model is the Amazon Alexa Tablet 12 Pro, which boasts an ultra-slim body just 6.5 mm thick, four Dolby Atmos speakers, and a 12-inch display (280 ppi) with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a 3:2 aspect ratio. This Pro version comes with 8 GB of RAM, 128/256 GB of storage, and the option to purchase a variant with a Nanomatte finish a paper-like, anti-glare coating compatible with the optional Pro Pen stylus. This model’s battery capacity is 9,000 mAh.

For its part, the Alexa Tablet 11 balances performance with an 11-inch 90 Hz display and 8 GB of RAM, along with 64/128 GB of storage. In terms of battery life, it features a 6,500 mAh battery.

The Alexa Tablet 8 prioritizes maximum portability with its 8.7-inch display; it features 4 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 64/128 GB of storage. This more compact model weighs just 329 grams and includes a 4,600 mAh battery.
