A95X MAX II a Box with SATA3 Bay that is enhanced with the AMlogic S905X3 SoC

We already have the Smart Box A95X MAX II available in stores, an improved version within its family that includes the AMlogic S905X3 SoC as a novelty.

The A95X MAX II replaces the Box A95X MAX which we saw a while ago in its review and as we say it improves it with the S905X3 SoC from AMlogic. Both the external design and the rest of the specifications of this new version do not receive improvements, we continue with an internal bay for a 2.5″ storage unit, although in terms of software we already start with Android 9.0. An interesting option and at a good price If we are looking for a 4K media player and with the option to have large capacity storage.

SoC, RAM and storage

The Smart Box A95X Max II includes the AMlogic S905X3 SoC, a Quad Core manufactured in 12nm with ARM Cortex-A55 processors that reach 1.5 GHz speed and that also integrates a Mali-G31 MP2 GPU. The VPU is an Amlogic Video Engine 10 with HDR Dolby Vision, HDR10 +, HDR10 and HLG support. This Box mounts 4 GB of base DDR3 RAM memory and 64 GB of eMMc storage memory that can be expanded thanks to the bay for SATA3 storage units that we find inside.

Other features

In the field of wireless connectivity for the A95X Max II we find 2T2R Dual Band Wi-Fi aC with internal antenna and Bluetooth 4.2. The connectors included in the plastic box are three USB 3.0, one USB 2.0, AV analogue output, a Gigabit Ethernet connector, SPDIF digital audio output and an HDMI 2.1 video interface with support for up to 8K @ 24fps resolutions.
