First details have leaked about the powerful new AMD Ryzen AI MAX+ 495 APU from the Gorgon Halo family, a solution designed for the most demanding users of mini PCs.
This new APU improves upon the performance of the current AMD Ryzen AI MAX+ 395, which is currently the most powerful option available in several high-end mini PCs. Based on data from initial tests, this new AMD Ryzen AI MAX 495 appears to promise a 10% performance improvement. As an integrated GPU, it features the high-performance Radeon 8065S, an evolution of the Radeon 8060S.
This APU will feature soldered LPDDR5X RAM, the mini PCs that incorporate it will undoubtedly fall into the ultra-high-end price range. We are waiting for AMD to release an AM5 socket APU so we can fully harness the power of these integrated GPUs.

AMD Ryzen AI MAX+ 495 Specifications
The AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 495 processor is manufactured, like its predecessor, using a 4nm process—a highly efficient process today that delivers high performance per watt. This is a 16-core, 32-thread chip with Zen 5 technology that achieves slightly higher speeds, as seen in the test results. It features the same amount of integrated L1 and L2 cache; there are no changes in this area.
For artificial intelligence tasks, it incorporates an AI core that will deliver around 50 TOPS; combined with the performance offered by the CPU, we’ll reach close to 130 TOPS.

Integrated AMD Radeon 8065S GPU
For graphics, we have the powerful 40-core Radeon 8065S iGPU, which also operates at a higher clock speed. As we can see, the RAM is integrated and consists of no less than 192 GB of LPDDR5X in an Octa-Channel configuration, which provides acceleration for the integrated GPU.
For storage, this configuration typically features two slots for M.2 2280 NVMe PCIe 4.0×4 SSDs. By default, we’ll likely have a 2 TB drive, which is what’s shown in the leak.
Price and Availability
- We’ll surely see a mini PC from GMKTec, Minisforum, or similar brands with this APU soon. Given the specs, we can expect a price of $1,900
