The new ANBERNIC RG28XX retro console has just been unveiled for imminent release, with a small screen of only 2.83 inches.
A very portable console measuring only 125 x 565 x 165 mm and weighing only 186 grams. By cons, its small screen does not make it suitable for the public or ages, although curiously includes a miniHDMI port if we want to connect it to the TV.
This Anbernic uses a Linux-based system and its Allwinner H700 SoC has the power to run all 16 Bit consoles , PS1 and Arcade machines. It is supposed to be able to emulate even many PSP, N64 and Dreamcast titles, although as always it will depend largely on how polished its software is.
ANBERNIC RG28XX Specifications
The ANBERNIC RG28XX console is powered by a low power consumption Allwinner H700 SoC, a chip with 4 ARM Cortex-A53 processors capable of reaching 1.5 Ghz and an ARM MALI-G31 MP2 GPU with support for video up to HDR10.
This console includes only 1 GB of LPDDR4 RAM. For storage, we have available two micro SD card readers up to 512 GB for OS and game storage. A 64 GB card is included with the OS and about 5500 games.
Display and other notable features
The horizontal display of the ANBERNIC RG28XX is an IPS OCA with a size of 2.83 inches and resolution of 640×480 pixels. The internal battery is of 3200mAh, capable of lasting up to 8 of gameplay according to the brand and recharged by a dedicated USB Type-C port. This time we do not have wireless connectivity or Bluetooth, although we do have a mini HDMI video output port support for 2.4G wireless controllers.
In terms of controls, we have a configuration with an analogue D-pad, four game keys, four triggers, start, select, reset and power switch. The connectors we find are a USB Type-C OTG, micro HDMI and a 3.5 mm audio jack. For audio, we have a single speaker.
