Undoubtedly, the most interesting point of the Anbernic RG503 console is its screen, since it is not very common to find an OLED screen integrated in this type of consoles. In this case it has a size of 4.95″ and thanks to this technology we have a superior image quality in contrast.
In this device we have Linux as operating system, something positive, since it will get more performance than Android using the RK3566 processor that we have seen in several reviews. This hardware is capable of easily running the included PSP, N64, PS1 and Dreamcast emulators as well as many other 8-bit and 16-bit emulators.
Anbernic RG503 Specifications
This new retro console Anbernic RG503 has as main engine the Rockchip RK3566 SoC manufactured in 22nm. This SoC is a Quad Core with ARM Cortex-A55 processors of low power consumption and 64 bits that reach up to 1.8 Ghz, with a Mali-G52 MP2 GPU and a NPU for iA with a power of 0.8 TOPS.
This device has 1 GB of LPDDR4 RAM and comes with a 16 GB microSD storage used to store the Linux system (Batocera fork) and its games. It also has a micro SD card reader for expansion up to 512 GB.
As we see the screen is an OLED display (like PS VITA) with a size of 4.95 inches with a resolution of 960×544 pixels that gives us pure blacks. The internal battery is of a good capacity with 3500 mAh capable of lasting up to 8 hours of video and 6 hours of gaming. We can recharge through its USB Type-C port dedicated to it. We also have available Wifi ac adapter and Bluetooth 4.2 connection.
For the controls we have a classic configuration with two analog, crosshair, four buttons, four triggers, start, select, reset and function key. The rest of the connectors we find a USB-C charging and connection, another USB-C OTG, microHDMI, a 3.5 mm audio jack, two micro SD card readers while for audio we have two 1 W speakers. This console also features vibration in compatible titles.
