Today we found a new external GPU dock called AOOSTAR AG02, a good alternative to boost our mini PC graphically.
This connection box for external graphics cards is compatible with any mini PC or laptop, we only need a 40 Gbps USB4 port or a 64 Gbps Oculink connector. In addition, it incorporates an integrated power supply that reaches up to 500 W, enough to power quite demanding cards. The case has a sober design and will not clash with our gaming table or office.
An interesting solution if we already have one of these mini PCs and want to get more performance out of it. The graphics power for gaming will be multiplied, as we have seen in our eGPU guide.
AOOSTAR AG02 technical specifications
The new AOOSTAR AG02 dock offers us as main attraction its PCIe 4.0×4 connector that reaches speeds of 64 Gbps. In the upper area we have two 8 pin power ports that allow us to connect up to a NVIDI RTX 4080, a substantial improvement over any integrated GPU of our processor.
To use this box we only need a mini PC or computer that has an Oculink or USB4 connector. When we give it power it will automatically be detected as the new main graphics of our system.
Other notable features
The metal box has an integrated power supply of 500 W for the AG02 version and 400 W for the AG01, we feed it through a power connector that we have in the rear area. In this way the installation of this Dock will be quite clean, we will only have the power cables.
On one of the sides we have the power button and the two data output connectors. In the front area we have a thread to tighten the GPU so that it does not move.
