AOOSTAR AG03, new Dock for eGPU with Thunderbolt 5 and OCuLink

New external GPU dock called AOOSTAR AG03, a new version of this series of external adapters that this time offers Thunderbolt 5 and OCuLink connectivity.

This AOOSTAR box allows connection for external graphics cards and compatible with any mini PC or laptop, ideally with a Thunderbolt 5 port that will provide dedicated connection at 80 Gbps, far exceeding the USB4 ports at 40 Gbps and OCuLink 64 Gbps. In addition, an integrated power supply is incorporated that reaches up to 800 W, enough to power very demanding cards, supporting up to an NVIDIA RTX 5070ti if we want to squeeze it.

A flexible solution if we already have one of these mini PCs with good connectivity and want to get more performance out of it. The graphics power for gaming will be multiplied as we have seen in our eGPU comparison.

Technical specifications of the AOOSTAR AG03

The main attraction of the new AOOSTAR AG03 dock is its PCIe 4.0×4 connector that reaches speeds of 64 Gbps. In the upper side area we have the power ports that allow connecting up to a NVIDI RTX 5070ti, an exponential improvement over any integrated GPU of our processor.

To use this box we only need a mini PC or computer that has a Thunderbolt 5 or USB4 connector. When we give it power it will automatically be detected as the new main graphics of our system.

Other notable features

The metal box has an integrated 800 W power supply, enough for any GPU, we feed it through a power connector that we have in the rear area. This way the installation of this Dock will be quite clean, we will only have the power cables.

On one of the sides we have the power button and the two USB-C Thundebolt 5 connectors for data input and output, as well as an OCuLink. In the front area we have a thread to tighten the GPU so that it does not move.

Price and availability

  • The AOOSTAR AG03 dock will soon be available on AliExpress or Amazon for about $239 / 220 €.
