Today we came across the new AOOSTAR WTR PRO mini PC and NAS. A small computer that allows you to mount up to four storage units.
Inside the box of the AOOSTAR WTR PRO we can mount four 3.5″ HDD storage units by opening the front area, to store teras of multimedia such as movies or series. This mini PC also serves as a complete multimedia center for our living room TV and use it as a player directly. As operating system we can install a Linux distribution , OpenWRT to use it as a soft router and even Windows.
Undoubtedly an interesting option for those who want something versatile in their living room. We have a variant that has the efficient Intel N100 and another with more power that uses the AMD Ryzen 7 5825U.
AOOSTAR WTR PRO Specifications
The AOOSTAR WTR PRO mini PC has a new version with the Intel N100 manufactured in 10 nm with four cores and four execution threads that reach up to 3.4 GHz. For the graphics section we have an integrated Intel UHD Graphics GPU with 24EU compatible with AV1 video codec up to 8K@30fps. This version mounts a DDR4 3200MHz SODIMM module and an NVMe slot.
On the other hand, we have the AMD Ryzen 7 5825U manufactured in 7nm. A chip that has 8x Zen 2 CPU cores with 16x threads with a speed up to 4.5 GHz. In the graphics section we have a Radeon RX Vega 8 GPU that will allow us to play somewhat demanding games. This version mounts two SODIMM DDR4 3200MHz modules and two NVMe SSD slots.
Other notable features
The AOOSTAR WTR PRO mini PC includes for Wifi 6 Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity in addition to two Ethernet 2.5 GB ports for use as a router. We also have on the back of the box two USB 3.0 connectors, two USB 2.0, USB-C video outputs (DP PD), HDMI 2.0, DP 1.4 with 4K@60fps HDR support, 3.5 mm audio jack, SD reader and finally a power connector.
On this mini PC it is possible to install operating systems such as Linux, OpenWRT, iKuai, LEDE or even Windows 11 if we want to use it with more conventional desktop apps. You wrong. Ryzen7-5825u CPU has 8 cores and 26 threads, hdd caddys not hot swap, there’s no wifi+Bt module, if you buy one really, you will see only reservation with a mini PCIe spot…
