The powerful miniPC ASRock DeskMini 310 with Mini-STX motherboard format continues its evolution and now adds support for Intel 9-generation Coffee Lake-S processors. By means of a simple update of the BIOS (version P3.40) we can install one of these new Intel chips, the models that are put on sale soon will already include this update.
The ASRock DeskMini 310 board is in Mini-STX format with a size of only 5 × 5 inches (127 × 127mm) and integrates an Intel H310 chipset with support up to 32GB DDR4-2666MHz RAM. This format does not have PCI expansion slots, which will always use an integrated GPU. In this mini PC it is possible to mount an Intel processor with a maximum power consumption of 65W an external power supply of 110W. This miniPC includes a Wifi ac adapter, although we will have to mount a CPU and a disk for internal storage to complete it.
As for connections in the ASRock DeskMini 310 we have on the front a USB 3.1 Type-C Gen1 port, USB 3.0 Type-A port, audio jack for headphones and microphone. In the back we have video output DisplayPort, VGA and HDMI that allows us to mount three screens, we also have a Gigabit Ethernet connector, a USB 2.0 connector and another USB 3.1 Type-A connector. Inside the miniPC we have two M.2 slots, one of them NVMe for an SSD disk, microSD reader and has two flat SATA 3 connectors that allow to mount up to two 2.5 “disk drives. The system is powered by an included power supply and is compatible with VESA support.
