The new ASRock iEP-7040E industrial fanless mini PCs, bomb-proof computers with the latest generation of Intel Arrow Lake-H processors, have been unveiled.
PCs that stand out for its rugged case with passive cooling and its large number of configurable ports. As processors we have the Intel Core Ultra 5 225H and Intel Core Ultra 7 255H manufactured in 3 nm, an integrated that allows running any demanding app. We have a rugged case for demanding environments of all kinds, even with dusty environments or high temperatures. These machines are intended for the professional sector for industrial control or digital signage of all kinds.
On one side we have up to four different combinations of ports to choose from. In this robust box we are allowed to install up to 96 GB of RAM DDR5 and a NVMe 4.0×4 SSD.
ASRock iEP-7040E Mini PC Specifications
In this range we have two references, the more humble ASRock iEP-7041E that offers the Intel Core Ultra 5 225H processor, with 14 cores configuration (4P 8E 2LPE) up to 4.8 GHz with 28 W. The other more powerful option is the ASRock iEP-7040, which includes the Intel Core Ultra 7 265H processor, with 16 cores configuration (6P 8E 2LPE) up to 5.1 GHz with 28W. As GPU we have an Intel Arc 130T/140T with 7/8 Xe-Cores with image and performance improvements with XeSS. In addition, it integrates an NPU for artificial intelligence works up to 13 TOPS.
For RAM memory we can mount up to 96 GB DDR5 Dual Channel at 5600 MHz. For storage we find a connector for SSD 2280 NVMe PCIe 4.0×4 high speed up to 4 TB capacity.
Other notable features
The ASRock iEP-7040E series is fanless and has a small footprint with its maximum dimensions of 68 x 170 x 134 mm. In terms of connectors we have three RS232/422/485 serial ports, three USB 3.2 Gen 2×1 ports, one USB 2.0 port and one line out/microphone in port. Three 2.5 GbE Intel i226-IT LAN ports are included, and the PoE and 5LAN SKUs add two additional 1 GbE Intel i210-AT LAN ports.
The POE SKU also supports two IEEE 802.3AF PoE ports for efficient power delivery. The 8DIO SKU incorporates 8-channel digital I/O with 3KV source/sink isolation for industrial automation, while the other SKUs offer 4-channel digital I/O. The series also supports an HDMI 2.0b port and a VGA port, providing high-quality output for AI-driven vision applications. For expansion, it supports an M.2 B slot (3042/3052) for 4G LTE/5G modules, an M.2 E slot (2230/2260) for wifi and Bluetooth modules, and a microSD bay.
