Under the name of ASUS Fanless Chromebox we have a new mini PC with Chrome OS, a system that is gradually gaining followers especially in the field of education.
This new totally passive computer has 10th Generation Intel processors that allow it to be used for office automation, video playback and light entertainment. It stands out without a doubt in his body made of aluminum extrusion that serves to dissipate the heat generated by the processor. It also has a good number of connectors and two external Wi-Fi antennas to ensure wireless connectivity.
Processor, RAM and storage
The new ASUS Fanless Chromebox will be available in various options with 10th generation Intel processors such as the Celeron 5205U, Intel Core i3-10110U, i5-10210U or the i7-10510U. We also have the option of mounting up to 16 GB of DDR4 RAM on an internal SODIMM for the Celeron or two SODIMMs for the Intel Core models. For storage, we have 32/64 GB of eMMC storage for the OS and option of a 128/256 GB SSD storage unit in its internal M.2 slot.
Other specifications
Wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5 with two external antennas. In the area of connectivity we have several USB 3.2 Type-A and Type-C ports with DisplayPort video output, 3.5 mm audio jack, Ethernet port, double HDMI output and RS-232 connector. A VESA bracket is included which allows us to mount this small computer behind any monitor or TV.
