Asus has just introduced its new compact PC named Asus VivoMini VC65-C a team prepared for 8th generation Intel processors and to work continuously lit without problems which facilitates its use in professional environments. We are surprised by its modular design with which we can add a floor with space for two extra storage units or an optical unit. Among its other strengths are its elegant metal chassis, its support for Intel Optane, possibility to connect multiple monitors including 4K and have a power supply inside its chassis. Undoubtedly a complete solution like miniPC but that surely premieres at a high price.
SoC, RAM and storage
The Asus VivoMini VC65-C can include 8th generation Intel processors such as Celeron G4900T, Pentium Gold G5400T, Core i3-8100T, Core i5-8400T or Core i7-8700T. It also includes 2 x DDR4 SO-DIMM capable of holding up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM, an M.2 SSD and depending on the model up to 4x 2.5-inch storage units. We can even optionally add a module with an optical DVD drive, something unusual in these compact devices.
Other specifications
At connectivity level we have 3 USB 3.1 Gen ports, 2 USB 3.1 Gen2 ports with fast charging, a USB 3.1 Type-C Gen2, microSD card reader, VGA, COM port, a DisplaPort 1.2, an HDMI 2.0, a couple of jacks of audio and a Gigabit network connector. It also includes WiFi aC and Bluetooth 5.0 in a module installed as standard.
