It seems that Windows handheld consoles are living a second youth and now the campaign for the interesting AYA Neo with the powerful AMD Ryzen 4500U APU has just been presented.
This new AYA Neo console seems to be a reality before it comes out, and we can see it in action in some promising videos. A console that is a complete mini PC integrated in a case with its controllers has a AMD Ryzen 5 4500U with Vega 6 GPU, 7-inch touch screen, 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB internal storage, enough hardware for any title decently. Definitely a direct competitor to the GPD WIN 3 and the One Netbook Gx1 which feature Intel Tiger Lake Gen11 CPUs with Intel Xe GPU.
Processor, RAM and storage
The new AYA Neo handheld console features the AMD Ryzen 5 4500U APU which includes 6 physical cores and 6 threads capable of reaching 4.0 GHz in turbo mode, its base frequency is 2.3 GHz and TDP of 15 W. The GPU is an AMD Radeon Vega 6 that reaches 1500 GHz.
In terms of memory and storage we have a version with 16 GB of RAM LPDDR4x to 4266GHz and a micro PCie NVMe SSD 512 GB capacity that we can easily replace.
Display and other features
The AYA Neo console has a 7-inch IPS touch screen with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. It has an internal Wi-Fi 6 adapter with integrated Bluetooth 5.0 while for connectivity we have 3.5 mm audio jack and three USB-C 3.0 ports and we assume some HDMI video output.
The battery is 12300 mAh with PD 2.0 fast charging system up to 65W. On the sides we have analog controls and button panels for different actions. The operating system will be Windows 10 to be able to run all games as in any conventional PC or laptop.
Price and availability
