The new AYANEO Pocket VERT console, a product that stands out for its careful design, power and for mounting a screen with a high pixel density.
A retro console that stands out for integrating a Snapdragon 8 Gen1 SoC, a solution that will allow us any retro emulator in 4;3 format without performance problems. The small 3.5″ screen offers a high pixel density thanks to its 1600 x 1440 resolution, which will undoubtedly reflect the graphics perfectly. In the design its materials stand out, we have glass and aluminum, the shapes are beveled and with transparencies. It draws attention for its unmarked buttons and also offers a touch area at the bottom to control some games.
The installed system is Android 14, so we can use any Android emulator directly. We also have custom software to manage the emulators and the catalog of games that we install.
AYANEO Pocket VERT Specifications
Inside this retro console we find the new SoC Octa Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen1. A chip manufactured in 4 nm that has an octa core CPU configuration with 1 3 4 cores. The GPU is an Adreno 730 that will allow us to move a lot of emulators almost up to PS3. For proper cooling we have a small internal fan in its metal casing.
For the RAM memory we have versions with 8/12 GB LPDDR5. Storage is of the high-speed UFS 3.1 type with 128 / 256 GB options, although we have a micro SD 3.0 card reader.
Other specifications
Its display is a 3.5-inch LTPS with a resolution of 1600 x 1440 pixels, with 615 ppi density, sRGB of 100% and a maximum brightness of 450 nits. We also have high-speed Wifi 6E connectivity, Bluetooth 5.2 and the battery has a capacity of 6000 mAh with fast charging.
As connectors we find a 3.5 mm audio jack, micro SD and a USB-C Gen2 port for recharging, data up to 10 Gbps and DP video output. Its controls highlight its unmarked design, with four rear triggers and enough buttons to make it compatible with any machine. In the lower area we have a small touchpad to control it with gestures.
Price and availability
- The new AYANEO Pocket VERT is currently in a funding campaign, but will soon be available on AliExpress. The price for now for its most economical version is $269 / 239€, but you have to count with taxes and shipping if you buy it in their campaign.
