The new Beelink GT-R Mini-PC, which integrates the recent low-power AMD Ryzen 5 3550H APU, has just been unveiled. A mini-PC that as we will see has a very interesting design and specifications that leave behind most of the low-power equipment we have seen so far.
The Beelink GT-R Mini-PC comes in a metal box with a fingerprint reader on top, so we can access Windows safely using only this method. This is a small computer that has very good expansion options because we have the option of installing two M.2 disks, one of them NVME, and that also allows us to install up to 16 GB of RAM in two SODIMM modules and an extra 2.5″ storage unit.
SoC, RAM and storage
The Beelink GT-R mini-PC includes an AMD Ryzen 5 3550H APU, a Quad Core with eight threads manufactured in 14 nm with Zen 2 processors that reach up to 3.7 GHz and includes a powerful Radeon Vega 8 GPU. As a ventilation system, a solution similar to notebooks is adopted, and we have two blower fans with a system of pipes in contact with the APU, this processor is installed in some notebooks and looks like an identical design to the one found in them.
It is possible that this mini PC will be released in barebone formats without memory or disk, but we will surely have versions with 4/8/16 GB of DDR4 2400 MHz RAM and different storage options for its M.2 2280 SATA and NVMe SSD disk slots. Inside this small box we can also mount an internal 2.5″ SATA disk, and we also have a SD card reader.
Other specifications
Within this mini-PC we have a WiFi aC Dual Band and Bluetooth 4.1 adapter with two connectors for external antennas. On the front of the box we have 2 USB 2.0 ports, a USB 3.1 Type-C port with video output, 3.5 mm audio jacks and a BIOS reset button. On the back we have two Gigabit network connectors, four USB 3.0 connectors, two HDMI 2.0 video outputs and a DP 1.4 with 4K@60 HDR support giving us a total of 4 simultaneous displays.
The measures are only 39x120x168 mm and is compatible with VESA support that will be included. This hardware is 100% compatible with Windows 10 and Linux, in the front area we have two microphones to give orders to Cortana if we want.
