Beelink SEi 8279U a new mini PC with good design and power

New mini PC from the Beelink brand that never ceases to expand its product catalog, in this case with its Beelink SEi 8279U. In this small computer we now have an Intel Core i5-8279U processor that has a fairly high power.

The case of this low power mini PC we already saw it with another inferior processor in the Beelink GTi i5-8259U of which you have available our review. This Intel Core i5-8279U processor undoubtedly stands out for its Intel Iris Plus 655 GPU, which is superior to the traditional Intel HD and allows us to run some games with a minimally good visual quality. We would also highlight the inclusion of Wifi 6, an NVMe SSD and two SO-DIMM memory slots with which we can easily expand the installed RAM.

Processor, RAM and storage

The new Beelink SEi 8279U mini PC includes the Intel Core i5-8279U processor, a Quad core with Eight threads up to 4.10 GHz that integrates an Intel Iris Plus 655 GPU that reaches a consumption of 20/28 W TPD. For cooling, we seem to have a good-sized fan and a Heat Pipes system.

The RAM is 8/16 GB DDR4 2400 Mhz although it can be expanded up to 32 GB thanks to the two available SO-DIMM slots. For storage it includes a 256/512 GB capacity M.2 NVMe 2280 SSD and a free internal bay for another 2.5-inch SATA3 drive.

Other specifications

In terms of wireless connectivity, we have an M.2 card that includes WIFI 6 ax and Bluetooth 5.0 with internal antenna. The connectors are quite complete, and we find a RJ45 Gigabit network port, four USB 3.0, a USB Type-C Gen 2 port, 3.5 mm audio jack, micro SD card reader and 2 HDMI 2.0 video outputs with support for resolutions up to 4K at 60fps HDR even with streaming services like Netflix.
