The small Chromecast with Google TV includes as main engine the SoC AMlogic S905D3, manufactured on 12nm. A Quad Core chip with low-power ARM Cortex-A55 CPU cores that reach up to 1.9 GHz and integrates a Mali-G31 MP2 GPU.
It also integrates 2 GB of RAM and 8 GB of storage memory, of which 4.4 GB are free. As you can see, it is a streaming-oriented device that includes a SoC with which we will not have heating problems.
Inside the Chromecast with Google TV we have Dual Band Wifi aC and Bluetooth and the included connectors are only an HDMI 2.1 port and a USB Type-C port from where it is powered. Fortunately, the USB Type-C port accepts the connection of a HUB which opens up a wide range of possibilities, as we can connect all kinds of external devices such as USB sticks or even an adapter with RJ-45 network input.
We have a remote control of small size and minimalist design that works via Bluetooth and Infrared, includes buttons for Netflix, YouTube and is powered by two AAA batteries. It also integrates microphone to perform searches and give orders through Google Assistant that we can connect with other smart devices, it is also compatible with HDMI-CEC that allows us to control our TV.
