It seems that the Mediatek MT8173 SoC is working very well in the sector of the high performance tablets, a similar SoC that we have been able to test it in models like the Teclast T10 that gave us an excellent performance even with its 2K screen. Now Chuwi joins the boat of this range of products and officially presents his Chuwi Hi9 model that we already seen briefly at this year’s IFA.
Chuwi Hi9 as we say has the SoC Mediatek MT8173 that has two high-performance ARM Cortex-A72 processors that reach up to 2GHz and four other low-power Cortex-A53 processors, while in the graphical section we have the powerful GPU Power VR GX6250 . It also includes 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, 4500 mAh battery, it has Wifi dual band aC and Bluetooth 4.0
The screen is 8.4 inches OGS manufactured by JDI with a resolution of 2560 × 1600 pixels with 2.5D glass, has a viewing angle of 178° and incorporates a rear camera. At the level of connectivity we found an audio jack, microSD card reader and microUSB OTG port for load and data. The operating system installed as standard is Android 7.0 so it will be the last, in its design highlights the very reduced side frames and their thickness.
