From what we see the last few weeks it seems that the TV-Boxes with Amlogic S905X4 processor are on clearance, as we have seen some very good offers, but not as good as the TANIX X4.
These low prices mark the release of the S905X5M SoC and make this box a much more cost-effective alternative to any low-priced box equipped with chips like the Allwinner H616, H313 or Rockchip RK3528, RK3518.
A Box that comes with Android 11 as the system, although it has already received some firmware updates and 4 GB of RAM, a very interesting point that guarantees fluidity when moving the system. This Android Box is suitable for use as a media player with KODI or CoreELEC, install EmuELEC for emulators or to run Android games.
On the other hand, the Tanix X4 is not very suitable for using paid streaming platforms, as it does not have certificates to display them in good quality and at most we can see them in 720p resolution.
TANIX X4 TV-Box Specifications
This Android BoxBox is powered by the AMlogic S905X4 SoC, a Quad Core chip manufactured in 12 nm. A chip with four low-power ARM Cortex-A55 processors that reach 2.0 Ghz and integrates a Mali-G31 MP2 GPU. The VPU includes 4K@60fps, HDR, HDR10, HLG and AV1 codec support.
We have two versions with 4 GB of RAM DDR3, 32/64 GB of storage eMMc. We also find a micro SD card reader in case we want to expand the memory by this method.
Other specifications
In terms of wireless connectivity, all versions feature Dual Band Wi-Fi aC with an internal antenna and Bluetooth 4.1. The connectors included in the plastic box are a USB 2.0 port, another USB 3.0 port, SPDIF digital audio output in 3.5 mm format, Gigabit Ethernet network connector and an HDMI 2.0 video output.
As usual, HDMI cable, power supply and a basic remote control are included to be able to use this Smart Box from the very first moment.
