Doogee S80 an armored smartphone with walkie-talkie functions

It seems that the armored smartphones with integrated digital walkie-talkie is booming and today the Doogee brand presents its new model Doogee S80, an ideal product for the harshest work environments that supports working temperatures between -30ºC and 60ºC. The walkie-talkie function also allows us to have a direct point-to-point or group communication by pressing a single button.

SoC, RAM and storage

The new Doogee S80 mounts as a processor a SoC Helio P23 (MT6763T), manufactured in 16 nm that has 8 ARM Cortex-A53 cores distributed in a pair of clusters, the most powerful with 4 ARM Cortex-A53 processors capable of reaching the 2.3 GHz and the second with another 4 ARM Cortex-A53 that remain in 2.2Ghz of maximum speed, on the other hand the GPU is an ARM MALI G71MP2. Integrated into the board we found 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of expandable storage memory thanks to the microSD card reader with protection.

Screen and other features

In the Doogee S80 we have a 5.99-inch LG IPS screen with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels (FHD+) with Gorilla Glass 5 protection, in its front we have a Samsung 16 MP camera, in the back we have one of 12 + 5 MP with Sony IMX363 sensor with facial unlocking and LED flash. This mobile also includes wifi, Bluetooth, FM Radio, NFC, GPS, Barometer, fingerprint reader on the back and a 4G-LTE Dual SIM modem with all international bands.

At the battery level we have a capacity of 10080 mAh, a Polymer battery made by the BAK brand that comes with a fast charger up to 24W. As for the level of protection we have IP68 submersible, IP69K against shock and MIL-STD-810G military level. The serial operating system is Android 8.1 and in terms of connectors includes a reversible USB Type-C port for data and a PTT connector for audio inputs and outputs. The measurements are 172 x 82.5 x 21.2 mm and the weight of 398 g, the antenna of the walkie can be disassembled and closed with a protection.
