New 3D printer unveiled: ELEGOO Centauri Carbon 2, a CoreXY designed machine that offers a multi-filament system at a very affordable price.
This printer is the evolution of the Centauri Carbon 1, a popular machine that will soon also receive the addition of a multi-filament system. On the side, we can mount 4 rolls of different materials or colors for easy access. The structure is Core XY with a sturdy frame . Thanks to its design, we can get to work immediately without worrying about fine adjustments. It also has 31 control sensors, automatic leveling systems , and a large ventilation system.
On one side, there is a filament change box that works in real time while we work, allowing changes to be made in the middle of printing. There is also an RFID reader to load compatible rolls just by reading their electronic card.
Specifications of the ELEGOO Centauri Carbon 2
The ELEGOO Centauri Carbon 2 3D printer offers a printing speed of up to 500 mm/s and is capable of accelerating up to 20,000 mm/s2. In addition, it has powerful ventilation systems in both the chamber and the extrusion head.
The default nozzle is 0.4 mm (0.2, 0.6, and 0.8 mm as extras), which extrudes the material at a temperature of 350°C through its metal nozzle and two pressure wheels for precision extrusion. This combination offers high precision of 0.1 mm.
Other notable features
The ELEGOO Centauri Carbon 2 Pro printer offers a build volume of 256 x 256 x 256 mm and touchscreen control. The system allows you to work with a wide range of filaments and features a magnetic build plate with two textures for added flexibility. Supported materials include PLA, ABS, ASA, PETG, TPU, PC, PAPA-CF, PET-CF, PAHT-CF, and many more.
This 3D printer has its own ELEGOO Slicer software (Orca Slicer version) customized for this printer. To connect to it, we have options via Wi-Fi and a USB port on the front. At the rear, we have the power connector and waste outlet for the integrated automatic cleaning system.
The sound section seems to be quite well designed and promotes only 45 dB of noise when working, which we would like to verify. It also has an internal video camera with LED light to monitor the printing process at all times and even record a time lapse.
