Elegoo introduces new reinforced filaments for FDM 3D printing

Elegoo launches fiber-reinforced filament series for stronger, smarter and more versatile FDM 3D printing

Elegoo, today announced the launch of its fiber-reinforced filament series, which expands the performance and versatility of FDM 3D printing. The new range includes carbon fiber reinforced PETG (PETG-CF), glass fiber reinforced PETG (PETG-GF) and another high temperature nylon reinforced with carbon fiber (PAHT-CF), three high-performance materials that offer increased strength, durability and professional-quality results. More filament variants are already under development and will be launched in response to user feedback and application needs.

New technical filaments from Elegoo

According to a recent Elegoo survey, low familiarity and high costs are the main reasons why many users have not yet tried fiber-reinforced filaments. “With Centauri Carbon, our FDM performance has reached a new level. Now we want to combine it with equally capable materials,” says Chris Hong, founder and CEO of Elegoo. “Consumer 3D printing goes beyond toys. It’s a tool for making practical, everyday items, and we hope more people will experience it.”

Elegoo’s fiber-reinforced filament series

PETG-CF (black/grey): combines the toughness of PETG with the stiffness of carbon fiber, resulting in a material that offers high strength, stiffness and abrasion resistance. With a low-gloss matte surface finish that resists abrasion and hides coating lines, this filament is ideal for functional parts and outdoor items. Typical applications include fixtures, lightweight brackets, bicycle parts, housing components, gears, latches, automotive parts and mechanical housings.

PETG-GF (black/gray/white): by infusing PETG with glass fiber, this material gains in toughness and abrasion resistance, while providing excellent electrical insulation due to the non-conductive nature of the glass fibers. With a high-quality matte surface that minimizes layer visibility, PETG-GF is ideal for functional parts that require both durability and insulation. Recommended applications include electrical housings, internal structures of industrial machinery, tooling accessories, bicycle pedals, connectors and abrasion-resistant terminals.

PAHT-CF (black): Manufactured by combining carbon fiber with high-temperature nylon, this material offers exceptional heat resistance, mechanical strength and chemical corrosion resistance. It withstands temperatures up to 194 °C and maintains structural integrity under thermal stress for consistent performance. PAHT-CF exhibits excellent interlayer adhesion, abrasion resistance and dimensional accuracy, making it ideal for demanding applications. Recommended uses include engine housings, engine components, heat-resistant fittings, gears, bearings and structural or metal replacement parts in automotive and industrial environments.
