A new version of the Firebat A8 mini PC is now available, this time with a new AMD Ryzen AI 9 365 processor using Zen 5 and Zen 5c microarchitectures.
A very efficient AMD chip, as it has been designed for laptops although in terms of performance it would only be 10% faster than the Ryzen 9 8945HS. As it could not be otherwise given its nomenclature, it includes a renewed NPU that in this case reaches up to 50 TOPS and a new 12-core Radeon 880M iGPU with which we can play all kinds of games in 1080p without major problems.
The rest of its configuration highlights its DDR5 5600 MHz RAM memory, its network connectivity with two 2.5G Ethernet ports and the presence of two full USB4 ports and an OCuLink port that allows us to get the most out of an eGPU. By the way, the base version already comes without RAM and storage, a trend that we are going to see a lot in the coming months.
FIREBAT A8 mini PC Specifications
This new version integrates a 4nm AMD Ryzen AI 9 365 processor. This Chip is a Deca Core with twenty threads, with speed up to 5.0 GHz and an NPU for AI up to 50 TOPS. It includes a powerful 12-core Radeon 880M iGPU that reaches a speed of 2.9 GHz. In addition, it includes a cooling system with two fans and 3 heatpipes, so temperatures should not be a problem.
As for RAM, we have two slots for DDR5 5600 MHz and a connector for an M.2 2280 NVMe Pcie x4 SSD.
Other notable features
In the connectivity section we have Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 and two high-speed 2.5G RJ45 network ports. As interfaces we find on the perimeter of the case an Oculink, a micro SD card reader, three USB 3.2 Gen2 ports, three USB 2.0, two audio jacks and HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4 video outputs up to 4K@144Hz. We also have two USB4 Type-C with data output, PD 3.0 power supply up to 100W and DisplayPort 1.4 video.
This mini PC comes with a small external transformer, a VESA plate is included to anchor it behind any monitor or TV and the operating system is Windows 11 Pro.
