After its passage through the financing portal Indiegogo, the Firefly ROC-RK3328-CC development board can be found by different online stores of the Network. As its name denotes we are facing a PCB based on the RockChip RK3328 SoC Quad Core and at software level has Dual OS boot with Android 7.1.1 and Ubuntu 16.04, the main attraction of this board.
SoC, RAM and storage
The Firefly ROC-RK3328-CC PCB includes the Rockchip RK3328 SoC, which features four ARM Cortex-A53 processors and a Mali-450mp2 GPU that includes native H.265 and VP9 video decoding up to 4K@60fps with support for HLG HDR. It also includes 1/2 GB of DDR4 RAM and a microSD memory card reader for storage and where to install the operating systems.
Connectivity
The wireless connectivity shines by its absence in this PCB since we do not have of series neither WiFi neither Bluetooth although we can always add it externally. In terms of interfaces it has a Gigabit network port, a USB 3.0 connector, 2 USB 2.0, CVBS analog output, HDMI 2.0a port, a microUSB for power, IR sensor, 40-pin connector and an external connector for eMMc memory.
