EPIC has just introduced the new Performance Mode for all PCs that meet Fortnite’s minimum specifications. We also have the option to reduce the size of Fornite installation on our disk by discarding textures.
This new Performance Mode greatly increases the frame rate for integrated GPUs and basic specifications, something that favors all PC’s and notebooks with low specifications, besides the b if we only have integrated disk will occupy us much less.
Activate performance mode
The Performance Mode option is currently available in Alpha stage, and can be selected through the game settings menu, offering significant performance gains by switching visual quality to reduce memory usage and lighten CPU and GPU load. For players who already have low-scaling settings or less powerful hardware, this mode will allow the game to run better than ever and maintain a smoother frame rate.
As minimum requirements are only asked to have 6GB of RAM for the game to move smoothly, it is recommended that if possible to make use of an SSD disk to improve the item load. As we see we can have an improvement of up to 30 fps playing with a resolution of 720p in teams with integrated GPUs or dedicated low-end GPUs.

Save hard disk space
With the launch of Performance Mode, players will also be able to disable high-resolution textures via the installation options page from within the Epic Launcher. To discard these types of textures and gain 15 GB of additional space, we will only have to configure the option as explained in the following image.
