New Gigabyte Brix mini PC with Intel Gemini Lake processors

Today we are a new Gigabyte Brix mini PC with Gemini Lake J series processors, more powerful chips than the classic N series processors like the one we saw in the review of the passive ASRock Gemini Lake motherboards. These mini PCs are designed for an industrial or professional use, as we can see has a COM port and several video outputs that can be useful for digital signage.

Processors, RAM and storage

These new Gigabyte Brix are presented with several options of processors, we have the models Intel Core Celeron J4000 Dual core (GB-BLCE-4000RC) and Celeron J4105 Quad core (GB-BLCE-4105R) and the most powerful model Pentium Silver J5005 Quad Core (GB-BLCE-5005R), all manufactured in 14nm and that integrate a 6th generation Intel HD GPU. Suitable processors for industrial environments, digital signage, office applications or to play 4K multimedia content.

This model in barebone format supports a single SO-DIMM DDR4-2400 up to a maximum of 8GB, in the internal storage section we have a SATA 3 connector to mount a 2.5-inch SSD or mechanical disk.

Other specifications

For wireless connectivity we find an integrated Wi-Fi aC and Bluetooth 4.2 card. In terms of connectors we have 3 USB 3.0 ports, a USB 3.0 Type-C port, audio input jack, output jack, COM port, Gigabit Ethernet port and two HDMI 2.0 video outputs with resolutions support up to 4K @ 60fps and another HDMI 1.4a that reaches resolutions up to 4K @ 30fps.

A VESA compatible plate with dimensions 75 x 75 and 100 x 100 is also included as standard. The compatible operating system as indicated in the specifications is Windows 10 but it will also be compatible with Linux.
