The new fanless motherboards of the main brands based on 8th generation Gemini Lake processors are starting to appear, in this case Gigabyte presents the Gigabyte J4005N D2P model, which has a configuration similar to the previous model with Apollo Lake. This time we have HMDI 2.0 video output and it is compatible with Intel CNVi wifi modules in its M.2 slot.
The Gigabyte J4005N D2P motherboard includes an 8th generation Gemini Lake processor manufactured in 14nm Intel Celeron J4005, a Dual Core capable of reaching 2.7Ghz in burst mode and including an Intel UHD Graphics 600 GPU with 12 execution units. Includes 2 sockets to install up to 16 GB of DDR4 memory in DIMM format with 2400 MHz, we have an M.2 interface compatible with NVMe PCIe Gen2 x2 drives, two SATA 3 ports and a slot for Intel CNVi Wifi module. At connectors level we have four USB 3.0 ports, Gigabit network connector, 1 COM port, three audio jacks, HDMI 2.0 port with 4K@60fps support and VGA connector.
This model has support for 7.1 audio with dedicated capacitors and supports HDCP 2.2 protection which allows us to support high quality video streams. At the operating system level it supports Window 10 in principle but it is possible that it also supports Linux.
